Technical fixes and Google Business Profile changes can show results within a few weeks. Rankings for competitive searches typically build over 3 to 6 months, and keep improving as long as the work continues.

A typical timeline

  1. Weeks 1–4: audit, technical fixes and Google Business Profile clean-up. Map visibility often improves first.
  2. Months 2–3: new and improved pages get indexed; early movement for less competitive searches.
  3. Months 4–6: stronger rankings for the searches that bring customers, as content and links add up.

What slows it down

  • A new domain with no history or links
  • Very competitive searches, such as lawyers or real estate in Toronto
  • Pages Google has not indexed, or a slow website
